“Nakli Captions…”: Tilak Varma is trolling veteran Indian stars over a training video

at preparation for the next T20I series against Afghanistan, young batsman Tilak Varma of India posted a video of himself training hard at the gym. Tilak made his debut for India in white-ball forms last year after putting up strong results in both domestic and Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket. Tilak posted on Instagram to share his New Year’s commitment to working out hard and getting in shape. “Adhering to my resolve from last year. Tilak said in the description of a video of himself working out hard at the gym, “No better way to start 2024.”

But all-rounder Axar Patel and veteran Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav mocked Tilak for the same.

Tilak was made fun of by Suryakumar, who captained India in the December 2023 T20I series against Australia and South Africa, with the quip, “Kaun batata hai teko ye sab nakli captions (Who gives you these fake comments)”.

In response to Surakumar’s remark, Axar joined in the fun as well, saying: “Apart from the caption, the video is also fake as he had recorded it on December 30. Training to usne 30 dec ko ki thi.”

Tilak participated in the ODI and T20I series against South Africa, however, Suryakumar was injured and missed the 50-over leg. On the other hand, Axar participated in the ODI series, which India, led by KL Rahul, won 2-1.

During the most recent Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa, Suryakumar sustained an ankle injury. The 31-year-old may have torn his ankle, which might take six weeks to repair, when fielding against South Africa in Johannesburg.

The powerful hitter is allegedly going to be absent from the next T20I series against Afghanistan, which begins on January 11. Devisha Shetty, his wife, recently let her admirers have a peek of Surya on social media by posting a few photos.

Devisha shared a photo of Surya with a pneumatic walker boot on her Instagram account.

In the Afghanistan T20I series, Rohit Sharma is anticipated to captain the squad as Hardin Pandya heals from an ankle injury.

January 11, 14, and 17 will see the play of the three matches.
