Phil Makes More!

Phil Foden is looking forward to “six more finals” after hitting the 50-goal milestone in the Premier League, which helped Manchester City maintain control of the championship fight.

The England midfielder’s first goal of two in Thursday’s 4-0 thumping of Brighton gave him a half-century. With a game remaining, City moved up to second place, one point behind champions Arsenal.

Strive to win
Pep Guardiola’s team takes on relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest on Sunday in their bid to become champions for a record fourth straight season. They next play Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham before taking on Manchester United in the FA Cup final for the second time in a row.

“Reaching this milestone is fantastic,” Foden said on the City website. “With the position I’m playing right now, I’m extremely happy because I keep finding the back of the goal for the team. We tend to go on and win games when I find the net, so I want to keep attempting to do that. There are six more matches and finals remaining, and I’m happy with the way I’m playing. I just want to keep working to support the team.

In Brighton, Foden added to Kevin De Bruyne’s excellent diving header with a deflected free-kick. He then scored with a brilliant first-time strike, and Julian Alvarez capped the score in the second half.

The 23-year-old believes that City’s prior successes will ease tensions before a heated match. He said, “I don’t think it’s a benefit, but I think it makes us much calmer.” “We have a ton of experience and have done this previously. I believe that we don’t really feel nervous, which is a little plus.

Haaland is dubious
Foden has already scored 24 goals in all competitions this season. Erling Haaland, the team’s top scorer, is questionable for the weekend’s trip to the City Ground after missing the previous two matches due to a muscular problem.
