Prior to the five-match test series against England, Rohit Sharma begins training

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been toiling away in the nets in preparation for the first Test matchup against England. India’s five-Test match series against England will begin in Hyderabad on January 25 and end with the fifth and final Test in Dharamshala on March 11. Rohit has a great record against England, averaging 49.80 in nine Test matches and 17 innings, with two hundreds and three fifties. His highest rating is 161.

The Indian captain is unmatched in Indian conditions, amassing 2,002 runs at an average of 66.73 in 24 Test matches, including eight hundreds and six fifties in 36 innings. 212 is his greatest score.

In four Test matches, Rohit scored 345 runs at an average of 57.50, including a century and fifty in seven innings, during England’s most recent visit to India in 2021. His highest rating was 161.

In his most recent match, a T20I series against Afghanistan earlier this month, Rohit scored two ducks before hitting the Afghanistan bowlers for 121* in 69 balls, including eight sixes and eleven fours.

Dhruv Jurel, a batsman and wicketkeeper, has been called up for the first time to the Indian Test team for the first two Tests. Mohammed Shami, the great bowler who is still recovering from his injury, was not included in the team. Ishan Kishan, an Indian batter, had requested a break during the South Africa trip and the Twenty20 Internationals against Afghanistan, but he was left off the roster.

Jasprit Bumrah, a talented bowler, will be the team’s vice-captain, with Rohit leading the way.

Three wicketkeepers have been added to the Indian team: KL Rahul, KS Bharat, and Dhruv Jurel.

For the first two Test matches, India selected four spinners in their squad: Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

India’s strong 16-man lineup included Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mukesh Kumar in addition to their potent pace assault.

The batting lineup remains identical with Virat Kohli, Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill occupying the middle-order spots.

For the first two Test matches against England, the following players are in the squad: Mohd. Siraj, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), and Avesh Khan.
