Shadab Khan makes fun of Pakistani captain by saying, “Babar Azam will carry drinks, I am that type of captain,” in a viral video

Following a lackluster performance in the Asia Cup 2023, which was played last month, Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam, will attempt to refocus in the forthcoming World Cup, which begins on Thursday. Despite being rated number one at the time, the Pakistani team suffered crushing losses to India and Sri Lanka, which sparked rumors of discord in the team’s locker room.

Leading members of the squad Shaheen Shah Afridi and the skipper himself spoke on the subject. Shaheen posted a picture of him and Babar along with the word “family” in an effort to disprove the rumors. Babar expressed a similar sentiment at the news conference held before to his departure for India to attend the World Cup.

In response, Babar emphasized the term “family” and said that “respect is given to everyone,” as well as claiming that the issue had been misunderstood.

If it provided supporters some peace of mind that everything was well in the locker room, particularly with the World Cup coming up, Shadab Khan’s amusing jabs at Babar on Tuesday during the warm-up match against Australia would undoubtedly lighten the atmosphere.

Shadab was approaching for the toss when he was questioned about why Babar was rested for the warm-up game. The all-rounder said, “He is okay but Babar wanted a rest.” But as soon as he added, he immediately attempted to pull the captain’s leg by saying, “I am that type of captain that he (Babar Azam) will come field and carry drinks as well.”

It’s interesting to note that Shadab used the term “family” as well when talking about how the throw helped the squad unite.

Like a family, we are here. We are close pals. Our team is gorgeous because of this. Together, we’ll succeed or fail. Always winning is a habit. We want success. Great chance for our squad to get some self-assurance from this, he remarked.

Babar prepares for the World Cup

Babar did spend some time in the middle when Pakistan was forced to chase 352, despite not opting to field. Although Pakistan fell short of accomplishing the target by 15 runs, Babar still managed to hit 90 runs off only 59 deliveries before hurting himself and giving others a chance.

In addition to Babar, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz also had a strong performance with the bat, demonstrating the depth of Pakistan’s batting order.
