T20 World Cup 2024: Ambati Rayudu’s India team does not include Hardik, Pant, or Samson

Ambati Rayudu, a former player for India, has selected his 15-man India side for the T20 World Cup 2024. Notable absences from the roster include Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

Rayudu has said that Rishabh Pant, who has ignited the IPL 2024 after returning to cricket after an extended injury layoff, would not be part of the Indian squad. In addition, Rayudu omitted Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, and Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians.

Instead, Rayudu has included experienced RCB player Dinesh Karthik in his squad. This IPL season, Karthik has been in outstanding form and has shown his finishing ability at bat. The 38-year-old recently discussed his want to play one last game for India, but he also expressed confidence in Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid’s judgment.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who brilliantly returned to form with a century against the Mumbai Indians, has also been selected by Rayudu. Riyan Parag, another hero of the Rajasthan Royals, Shivam Dube of CSK, and Rinku Singh, the beloved child of KKR, all make it.

Rayudu has selected Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav as his spinners. This season, the Kul-Cha of Indian cricket are playing really well, and they have the potential to be a deadly combination for Team India in the T20 World Cup. Chahal has established a solid reputation for himself, having recently becoming the first player to reach 200 IPL wickets.

The pace assault will be led by Jasprit Bumrah and include Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Rayudu hasn’t given up on Siraj despite his lackluster season with the RCB. Mayank Yadav, a pacer for LSG who showed potential early in the IPL season but hasn’t played in the previous few games because of injury, is the unexpected inclusion.

T20 World Cup 2024: India’s squad led by Ambati Rayudu
The following players are in the starting lineup: Mayank Yadav, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, and Rohit Sharma (c).

Rayudu Ambati India Team – Discussion Points
The LSG pacer Mayank Yadav is unlikely to be included in the India team, therefore it seems premature to include him.
It doesn’t seem appropriate to have only one wicketkeeper. In the Indian squad, Dinesh Karthik is not worthy of a starting position. Thus, it is confusing to use a single keeper.
If we use the IPL 2024 as the yardstick, Harshal Patel is unquestionably ahead of the pack and is enjoying a great season.
