T20 World Cup 2024: Former players beg Ajit Agarkar to add CSK star Shivam Dube in the Indian squad

Tuesday, April 23, saw Shivam Dube continue his incredible success in the IPL 2024 with another remarkable knock for the Chennai Super Kings.

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the CSK batsman was on fire, hitting three fours and seven sixes his way to scoring 66 runs off just 27 balls.

Due to his reputation for striking hard against spinners, Dube has often prompted the captains of the other team to bowl at a faster speed when he is at the crease. However, he destroyed the Lucknow Super Giants’ pacers that evening and had a great batting performance.

In eight innings, Dube has now scored 311 runs at a 51.8 average and a 170 strike rate. This season, he has been exceptional and has scored three fifties. His participation in the T20 World Cup team has already been supported by some, and their views have only grown stronger in light of the setback against LSG.

On social media, three former Indian players expressed their support for Dube’s selection in the team for the June T20 World Cup.

Mohammed Kaif, a former player for India, thinks Shivam Dube is the Indian team’s fourth-best option.

“Shivam Dube is ideal for batting before of the big hitters and after the top order. “It should rank fourth or fifth for India in the World T20,” Kaif said on his X (formerly Twitter) site.

Ajit Agarkar, the BCCI head selector, was urged to include Shivam Dube in the Indian squad by former CSK star Suresh Raina. Since he has dominated bowling this season, Dube has a good chance of reaching the Indian team, to be honest.

Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra both believe Dube must play for India in the World Cup. The southpaw from CSK, in Pathan’s opinion, is now the finest Indian batter.
