‘Temporary Hearing Loss’: The Wife of the LSG Batter Explains the ‘Warning’ She Got When MS Dhoni Walked Out to Bat at Ekana

The supporters of the Lucknow Super Giants painted the Ekana Cricket Stadium yellow in honor of the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, match number 34. However, after being assigned to bat first, Chennai surprised the crowd by having a terrible start.

The leaders battled at 87/4 as the top-order disintegrated and the middle-order weakened too. The great MS Dhoni raised the stakes with a late-inning cameo of 9 balls and 28 runs. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja led the inning with his maiden fifty of the season.

During his brief stint in the middle, the former skipper of CSK hit three boundaries and sixes, helping the squad to a massive 176 for 6 in 20 overs. Ekana seemed like Chepauk as the supporters applauded him in unison as his stroke play was breathtaking.

Sasha, Quinton de Kock’s wife, who was there, noticed the unbearable level of noise in the stadium and got a notification about it on her wristwatch. She posted a picture to her Instagram account, showing that as Dhoni went out to bat, the noise levels had reached 95 dB.

“A loud setting. Decibel levels reached 95. Sasha de Kock’s smartwatch displayed a statement that said, “Even 10 minutes at this level can cause temporary hearing loss.”

But despite Dhoni’s innings, LSG is on track for their fourth victory of the season with to half-centuries from KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. This means that the reigning champions will not win three games in a row.

De Kock and Rahul put up an outstanding opening partnership of 134 runs, almost eliminating any hope CSK had of winning. As her wife saw him perform well in person, De Kock hit 54 off 43, and skipper Rahul top scored with a 53-ball 82 to set the stage for the run chase. LSG defeated Rahul and De Kock, but not before winning by eight wickets with one over remaining.
