Ten Hag is not thrilled with how Man Utd’s victory was received

Erik ten Hag, who fiercely defended his team’s accomplishment in making it to a second consecutive final, called the media’s response to Manchester United’s performance in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry “a disgrace.”

United gave up a 3-0 lead at Wembley on Sunday, and only a VAR intervention—which disallowed a goal for offside in the closing seconds—kept them from a humiliating departure in extra time. They finally prevailed over the Championship team on penalties, setting up a rematch of the City final from the previous year. After the game, Ten Hag acknowledged that his side had “got away with it,” but he downplayed any feelings of humiliation.

The performance, according to former Premier League striker Chris Sutton, would “cement his sacking.” But on the eve of United’s Premier League match against Sheffield United, the lowest team, on Wednesday, Ten Hag was in a combative mood. “You inquired, ‘Is it embarrassing?'” No, it’s humiliating how you responded. “The remarks are utterly shameful,” he informed the press.
