They’re applauding us too much, I’m sorry, but India has fantastic players: PAK a great’s brutal criticism of Rohit and Kohli

Team India is preparing for a highly anticipated match against Pakistan on Sunday in the Super 4 of the 2023 Asia Cup. The previous encounter between the two teams in the group stage was abandoned owing to rain at Pallekele, which interfered with the second inning. The Indian top order was first shaken up by the Pakistani pacers, putting the team in trouble at 66/4. However, the squad was saved from early danger by Hardik Pandya’s tenacious 87 and Ishan Kishan’s brilliant 82, which finally helped them achieve a total of 266. Shaheen Afridi, a great pacer for Pakistan, shone out among the team’s bowlers with a standout performance and impressive 4/35 in stats. As India continued to struggle against the Pakistani speed trio, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah also made a strong impression with their outstanding efforts.

Many have subsequently analyzed India’s batters’ strategy against the three; Rohit Sharma, the team’s captain, had a more open posture than normal against Shaheen, giving the impression that he had been especially focusing on the bowler. Shubman Gill, who was facing Pakistan for the first time in his career, seemed completely lost as he was routinely defeated by the pacers’ ferocious swing and speed. Shaheen once again defeated Virat Kohli in the meanwhile with a heavy inside set that ricocheted towards the stumps.

Former Pakistani spinner Saqlain Mushtaq noticed a certain pattern among some of the best India players as they were ready to face Shaheen, Naseem, and Rauf in a repeat in the Asia Cup. Mushtaq thinks that Rohit and Kohli’s focus on the Pakistan pacers has been excessive, which is detrimental to how they would approach playing against the opposition.

“As a leader, you should make eye contact whether speaking to the media or to your group. Small things have a big impact. The young people do believe that “they are good” if there is presser, when you speak about opposition too much or laud them too much. On Samaa TV, Mushtaq said that they were superior.

It’s a game of skill, but it’s also a mental game. India has excellent players, but I’m sorry, they are too complimentary of Pakistan. It’s also a positive indication for us. Virat and Rohit, please stop talking so much about Babar Azam, Nasem, and Shaheen. And that benefits us,” the former spinner said.

Rain to disappoint once more?

There is a good likelihood that Sunday’s match between India and Pakistan may be ruined by rain. The Asian Cricket Council controversially decided to add a reserve day to the Ind-Pak match in Super 4 earlier this week, although Monday is also expected to be very rainy.
