Watch as MS Dhoni leans in to give skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad a pat on the back as the two CSK leaders have a humorous moment

Even if the years pass, MS Dhoni’s hilarious antics never change. Yesterday at the Wankhede, when the Chennai Super Kings faced off against fierce rivals the Mumbai Indians, the charismatic former Indian and captain of CSK created another humorous moment for fans to enjoy.

After losing the toss, CSK was ordered to bat first. However, the Chennai team had a difficult start, losing Rahane early on and finding it difficult to generate a steady flow of runs before losing Rachin Ravindra as well.

Then, with the help of hard-hitting phenom Shivam Dube, the new captain, teenager Ruturaj Gaikwad, took charge and used a captain’s knock to direct his side out from difficulty and drive them towards a competitive score. They both scored more than fifty runs each, and their contributions were crucial in getting Chennai back into the game.

But it was none other than the legendary “Thala,” MS Dhoni, who stole the stage.

With four balls left in the 20th over, the renowned finisher entered the field against MI’s new captain, Hardik Pandya. It didn’t take long for Dhoni to make an impression, as he hit Pandya for a memorable six that even the Mumbai fans could not contain.

The great finisher would go on to smash two more sixes in the following two balls and close the innings with a double, leading CSK to a scorching 206 runs. He was far from done yet.

As a thank you for his previous appearance, Chennai’s old guard, Dhoni, leaned in to give the new captain, Gaikwad, a slap on the back when his innings was over and the wicketkeeper changed into this behind-the-stumps gear for the following innings.

Gaikwad grinned in response, and the two went on to complete what they had begun and secure their team’s fourth victory of the year.

Ultimately, MI lost by 20 runs, which is precisely what Dhoni scored for CSK during his innings, and CSK emerged victorious despite an excellent century from Rohit Sharma.

Gaikwad complimented MS Dhoni’s performance after the game and thanked the “young wicketkeeper” for being the game-changing factor.

During the post-match presentation, Gaikwad said, “I think that was the difference. Our young wicketkeeper scoring three sixes down the order helped a lot.”
