took on development projects in Dhone valued at Rs 3,000 crore: The Finance Minister of AP

In the Kurnool district, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy is trying to win three out of four seats in the Dhone Assembly sector. The representative discusses the development projects of Rs 3,000 crore undertaken in his area in an interview with K Madhu Sudhakar. Regarding YS Sharmila’s political debut, Buggana said that YSRC’s chances would not be impacted by the APCC chief’s electoral debut.

What specific development initiatives did you embark on while serving as the MLA for Dhone?

I took up Rs 3,000 crore worth of development projects in the Dhone Assembly seat during my term. Up until 2014, there were problems with the availability of water, roads, employment prospects, and even hospitals. With these concerns in mind, I was able to embark on a number of initiatives, including the construction of a Rs 37 crore 100-bed hospital equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and a Rs 44 crore water grid that would provide clean water to every home and tap. In addition, roads going to several towns and the highway from Dhone to Nandyal were constructed with Rs 630 crore, and irrigation projects of Rs 254 crore were undertaken to address the drought conditions. In order to raise educational standards, the following institutions were built: the Polytechnic College (Rs 25 crore), the Veterinary Polytechnic College (Rs 11 crore), the Junior College and Social Welfare School (Rs 28 crore), the Junior College and BC Welfare School (Rs 36 crore), and the Industrial Training Institute (Rs 11 crore). Among other development initiatives, an integrated terminal market was established with an investment of Rs 49.50 crore.

Exist any problems that still need attention?

The Dhone Constituency is experiencing a drought. As a result, further work is required, such as fixing the irrigation and drinking problems. My next goal would be to resolve every problem permanently. I continue to place a strong emphasis on generating employment opportunities and giving all job seekers access to local employment. Dhone will also be designated as the State’s model constituency for the next five years.

Kotla Kurnool is a stronghold for TDP candidate Surya Prakash Reddy in Dhone. He seems like he could put up a good fight with you.

It won’t improve his chances of winning an election, but Prakash Reddy is relying on the work of his father, Kotla Vijayabhaskhar Reddy, the previous chief minister. He hasn’t made any progress toward Dhone’s growth. He had pledged to build a railway coach plant in Dhone while serving as the Union Minister of State for Railways, but he broke his word. Prakash Reddy has returned to the seat in Dhone just to further his political ambitions, having been out of the picture for over 15 years. Over the last several years, he and his family have faced opposition from a variety of different regional groupings.

Where will he go next if he doesn’t win the Dhone seat? He doesn’t seem to have a stable address. He is constantly moving his attention around to suit his needs. There is no road linking his father’s birthplace, Laddagiri village, to the town.

Will the chances of YSRC winning another term in the State be affected by YS Sharmila Reddy’s foray into electoral politics?

In the State, the congressional party is meaningless. The YSRC’s chances of winning the elections will not be impacted by YS Sharmila’s foray into political politics. Congress Members of Legislative Assembly names are forgotten. How in the world will they even matter?
