A land dispute in the village of Deoria in Uttar Pradesh resulted in six deaths

Prem Yadav, a 50-year-old former district panchayat member, was the target of a vicious assault by Satyaprakash Dubey and his family. Sharp-edged weaponry sadly ended Prem Yadav’s life. Retaliatory violence quickly followed in a frightening turn of events, with Yadav’s followers from Abhaipur carrying out a vicious assault on Dubey’s home. Due to this retaliation, Dubey and five family members—including young children—met a sad end, according to PTI.

The 54-year-old Satyaprakash Dubey, his 52-year-old wife Kiran, their daughters Saloni (18) and Nandani (10), and their 15-year-old son Gandhi were all killed in this tragic occurrence. The assault also injured Dubey’s 8-year-old son, Anmol, who is now being treated at BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur for critical injuries.

A long-running land dispute between the two families that was meant to have been settled seven years previously but continued to be a simmering source of stress culminated in this heartbreaking occurrence. According to Special DG, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar, two people have been detained in connection with the murders after this tragedy.

Around 8 am, when an argument between the two groups became deadly, word of this horrible tragedy reached the authorities. District Magistrate Akhand Pratap Singh stated that the lingering land dispute between the two families was, in fact, what led to this unfortunate tragedy.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, has immediately ordered law enforcement to punish those responsible severely. He has also sent condolences to the sad relatives of both families and given orders to ensure that the wounded get the finest treatment available.

Shalabh Mani Tripathi, a local BJP MLA, expressed his profound grief over the occurrence and promised a thorough inquiry. He made it clear that such actions are wholly unacceptable and that those in charge will be held accountable.

Sankalp Sharma, superintendent of police, acknowledged that there would be a significant police presence in the area due to the sensitive nature of the issue between the two castes.

The tragedy has triggered political responses, with the Congress and the opposition Samajwadi Party calling for a high-level investigation into the incident. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the SP, questioned the government’s involvement and demanded an immediate probe to determine what led to the deaths.

Congress expressed its worries over the worsening law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh and bemoaned the disturbingly high frequency of such violence. The Yogi Adityanath administration was condemned by the BJP for turning the state into what they called a “crime zone.”
