Every village held a Ramlila even during the Mughal era: UP CM

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said on Thursday that Ramlila celebrations, which took inspiration from the Ramcharitmanas, were held in every hamlet even during the Mughal era. He said that India is the only nation in the world where “shakti” (power) is worshipped twice a year at an event here.

“It is said that a ‘Goddess’ represents all of the power in the world. The chief minister remarked, “We may worship her as Maa Bhagwati, Durga, Maa Saraswati, Maa Lakshmi, and Mahakali, the mother of the universe. At the release of a musical performance that included Sameer Tripathi’s recital of the Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Mahapuran, he was speaking.

The chief minister also mentioned the Ramcharitmanas and Ramlila, saying that “when Mughal invaders were trying to destroy the Sanatan religion and culture of India, Ramlila was being organised in every village, which reflected the inspiration from the Ramcharitmanas.”

According to legend, each time Tulsidas tried to compose a contemporary Sanskrit Ramayana, the manuscript was lost, Adityanath remarked.

Finally, Lord Vishwanath appeared in Kashi and gave him the order to write his works in the native tongue rather than Sanskrit. Tulsidas arrived in Ayodhya from Kashi at a period when many people spoke the major dialect of Awadhi. During this time, he began composing the Ramcharitmanas, the guy claimed.
