Following unrest in the Nepal area, the UP Police are on high alert around the border

Following unrest in Nepal’s Banka district, which borders the state’s Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh Police have issued a warning in seven districts along the porous India-Nepal border.

“Joint patrolling by the Uttar Pradesh Police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which protects the India-Nepal border, has been intensified across Bahraich and other six districts sharing borders with Nepal,” said Prashant Kumar, special DG (law and order). To prevent unrest from spreading inside of Indian territory, the passage over the border has been limited.

He said that in order to preserve calm in Indian territory, the state police worked closely with the SSB and other national organizations.

A 599-kilometer border with Nepal is shared by two districts in western Uttar Pradesh, Pilibhit, and Lakhimpur Kheri, as well as five districts in the eastern section of the state: Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddartha Nagar, and Maharajganj.

After a racial altercation during the Sadhbhawna protest, according to SP (Bahraich) Prashant Verma, Banka district had a law and order issue on Tuesday morning.

According to early reports from Nepal, unrest started during the gathering as a result of stone-throwing.

All five police outposts along the Nepal border in Bahraich have been instructed to maintain increased vigilance and alertness as we closely monitor the situation across the border, he said.

Trucks were lined up in huge lines at the Rupaidiha border on Wednesday, but they have since been redirected to other entry points into Nepal.

Since around 15,000 people from India and Nepal cross the border into their nations everyday at Rupaidiha, there was considerable concern on Tuesday. Many Indians were stuck in Nepal, while a number of Nepalese people were stranded in India. Following identification verification, individuals from both sides were permitted to go across, according to a different police officer.
