‘I’m Handicapped, So…’ Muslim student slapped Defends UP Teacher and Disavows Communal Angle

After a video showing a teacher reportedly urging Hindu pupils in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, to slap a Muslim student went viral yesterday, the accused teacher, Tripta Tyagi, vehemently denied that the event had a sectarian undertone. Instead, she said that the youngster had not been completing his schoolwork and that she had urged several classmates to hit him.

Who said what in the classroom?
In her defense, Tyagi claimed that the video was purposefully altered to portray the whole episode through an imagined prism of racial hate.

“The youngster’s relative was seated among the group. She referred to objectionable statements she was heard speaking towards a community in the video as having been filmed by him and then altered.

.”The child’s parents put pressure on me to be stern with him. Since I have a disability, I had some of the classmates smack him to get him to start completing his schoolwork, she said.

According to Ms. Tyagi, the “minor issue” had been exaggerated following the viral video clip. “I didn’t mean to do this. I acknowledge my error, but this was needlessly escalated into a major problem, she stated.

FIR was filed against the instructor.
According to Aravind Mallappa Bangari, the District Magistrate of Muzaffaarnagar, a First Information Report, or FIR, has been filed against the instructor.

The parents first refused to file a complaint, but this morning they did it and it was lodged at the neighborhood police station. The lawsuit will be litigated, according to Mr. Bangari.

According to Mr. Bangari, the child welfare committee provided counseling to both the parents and the youngster.

What was said by the boy’s father?
The boy’s father, who decided not to file a complaint against the school yesterday, said today, “My kid is 7 years old. The occurrence took place on August 24. The instructor repeatedly made the kids hit my child. A few of hours were spent torturing my youngster. The child’s father today remarked, “He’s afraid.

Social internet is ablaze with fury over the video. Additionally, politicians from opposing parties denounced the act as a hate crime.
