In 2 different incidents in Kanpur Dehat, 6 people were murdered and 8 wounded

KANPUR: Two distinct incidents from the Kanpur Dehat district on Wednesday morning resulted in six fatalities and eight injuries.

In the first incident, which happened early on Wednesday in the Kanpur Dehat neighborhood of Musanagar, a mini-truck and a truck collided, resulting in the deaths of three hawkers and the injuries of two more. From Bhognipur, the three got into a small vehicle headed for Ghatampur.

Sulkhan (28), a resident of Naubasta West Ward 1 in Ghatampur; Rahul (26), a resident of Naubasta East Ward 17; and Ajay (32) of the Chhatapurwa region of Bidhnu, were identified by the police as the dead.

According to police reports, all three of them left Bhognipur at approximately 6.30 am in order to go to Ghatampur by mini-truck.
According to police sources, it was when they arrived in the Akbarabad area of Musanagar town that the minitruck they were riding in collided head-on with a truck approaching from the opposite direction. “The mini truck’s cabin was badly damaged due to the collision and all three sitting inside it along with others suffered serious injuries,” the sources continued. Nizam, the driver of a minitruck, and another individual known as Rambabu suffered serious injuries in the collision, but all three of them perished.

With the use of a crane, the police swiftly arrived at the scene, separated the two cars, and removed all of the corpses except for the wounded.
The truck driver was able to escape the scene, according to Musanagar Dinesh Gautam, the in-charge of the police station. “A case has been registered and searches are underway to make his arrest possible,” he said.

Similarly, on Wednesday morning, an Eco vehicle carrying a wedding party toppled on the Kanpur-Jhansi Highway close to Patel Chowk in the Pukhrayan neighborhood of Kanpur Dehat, resulting in the deaths of three of the passengers and the critical injuries of six more.

After being notified, police arrived on the scene, moving the six wounded individuals to a community health center nearby, and sending the deceased to a morgue for a post-mortem.

According to the police, the incident happened when a resident of Jarela Gajner in Kanpur Dehat named Rakesh traveled to Kurara town in Hamirpur as part of his wedding procession.

Early in the morning, the vehicle carrying the returning wedding guests lost control and flipped over on the Kanpur-Jhansi Highway in Pukhrayan, within the boundaries of the Bhognipur Kotwali police area, close to Patel Chowk.

The dead have been identified as Kunwarlal (60), a resident of Gajner Jarela; the wounded have been named Ravi Shankar of Jarela; Lakshtan, Rachit, Karthik, Arjun; and driver Sushil of Akbarpur Nasarpur. The deceased are also known as Raghunath (40) of Ghatampur Nandana and Chhotalal (55) of Akbarpur Muridpur.

According to Inspector Bhoganipur Kotwali Anjan Kumar Singh, every wounded person is receiving care at the district hospital. “Police and experts are ascertaining the exact cause that led to the accident,” he said.
