Schools will be open today in Uttar Pradesh

Today, October 1, schools in Uttar Pradesh are open as usual. Due to Gandhi Jayanti being observed on October 2, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that all state secondary schools, including those of all other boards, stay open on Sunday.

Under the “Swachhajanli” program, during which schools must stay open, a one-hour “Shramdaan” session will be organized. Additionally, all schools will implement “Prabhat Pheris,” after which students and instructors will be required to execute Shramdaan. Following that, pupils will get treats.

On October 2, 2023, Mahatma Gandhi will celebrate his 154th birthday. A 154-hour intensive cleaning program has started as a result. Students have been told to carry Prabhat Pheri and spread the phrase “Cleanliness is Service” to the populace. The prohibition on plastic and polythene will be made known to the public.

Every year on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti is commemorated to commemorate the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, often referred to as Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi, a pioneer of nonviolence and the truth, launched the Satyagraha and Ahimsa movements during the war for Indian independence. As the Father of the Nation, he led the fight for India’s independence from British control with several other national figures.

The UP government gave schools instructions to require morning assemblies and to discuss hygiene on other days than October 2. All schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh must now have a morning assembly for 15 minutes as per instructions from the secondary education department. CM Adityanath requested that school principals include morning assemblies in the curriculum and arrive 15 minutes before to the commencement of each one.

“In the assembly, students will be encouraged to take a pledge for different purposes, like cleanliness, talk about quotable quotes of great personalities, discuss important news of the day, quiz on general topics, and recitation of the national anthem,” stated a notification issued by Mahendra Dev, director, secondary education.
