The U.P. government is planning a “Safe Industrial Area” following Safe Cities

According to a government statement released on Saturday, the Yogi Adityanath-led administration in Uttar Pradesh planned to improve the security of industrial zones in accordance with its safe city plan.

Projects are now under progress to create a “Safe Industrial Area” modeled after the Safe City idea, according to the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).

“As part of this plan, CCTV cameras are being installed in industrial locations to record every action. Additionally, work is also being done on the building of pink restrooms, fire stations, and police stations. For these initiatives, a budget of around 235 crore is envisaged. In 70 industrial locations, UPSIDA has begun giving this strategy concrete form, according to the statement.

The plan for a Safe Industrial Area was developed, a significant budget was allotted, and the work was also started by Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA, the statement said.

This program will strengthen the workplace’s safety while also enhancing the security of women, business owners, employees, and workers in industrial locations. Maheshwari remarked that the Safe Industrial Area project was moving forward quickly, as cited in the release.

25,000 streetlights at a cost of 55 crore rupees and 480 high mast lights in industrial zones are being installed as part of the project. 42 police outposts have been built or are being built, and 12 fire stations will be established.

For $14 crore, CCTV cameras are being placed in 70 industrial zones. The installation of a public speaker system, which will cost 2.10 crore, is also under way. This will make it possible to convey messages to workers and others around. Artificial intelligence will be included into these CCTV cameras, allowing them to transmit warnings in the event of suspicious activity or criminal behavior.

In industrial regions like Surajpur of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bareilly, Varanasi, Lucknow, and others, creche (daycare) centers will also be built. Additionally, UPSIDA is putting up health ATMs in business districts.
