Threat of “dead body” puts Samajwadi Party in jeopardy

Sanatan Pandey, the Ballia candidate for the Samajwadi Party, was the subject of a formal complaint when a video of him threatening the district magistrate went viral.

In the film, Pandey is heard stating, “If I’m defeated by manipulation, it would be either my dead body or that of the district election officer coming out of the counting venue.”

Police on Sunday booked him in response to a complaint from election authorities in the Ballia district.

Pandey said that even though he won the 2019 Lok Sabha election, he was still branded the loser.
