Videos of monkeys go viral: “Hanuman sightings” and Ram Mandir

“As if Hanuman ji himself came for a darshan of Ram Lalla,” the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said on a monkey that had broken into the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on the day it was opened to pilgrims.

The image of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita is completed with the Monkey God, Hanuman.

There were also strange stories of monkeys sacrificing themselves to Lord Ram in the days before and after the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of the Balak Ram idol at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

One person could publish a video of a langoor visiting a puja site and bowing at the “havan” site, while another person would post a video of a monkey climbing a bamboo pole to “touch the feet of Lord Ram” on a flag.

NEW GOOGLE VIDEOS OF LORD RAM AND “HANUMAN”
A recent video of a monkey scaling a holy pedestal inside a crowded temple went popular on social media.

“The monkey who came to the temple did not touch the bananas and anything given to eat, he quickly sat near Shri Ram, touched the feet of Lord Shri Ram and went away,” according to the caption of the post on X.

In front of the show, devotees could be seen praying with their hands folded and singing “Jai Shree Hanuman” and “Jai Shree Ram” as the monkey ascended to reach the statues of Lord Ram, Sita, and Laxman.

A user going by the handle SK Chakraborty posted about the location and timing of the occurrence. “On the day of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on 22 Jan 2024, a monkey visited the Shri Ram Temple in Lonavala, Maharashtra,” the post said.

On January 22, the day of the Ram Mandir’s opening, a different video went viral and left social media users in awe. In the company of devotees, a langoor was seen attending a yajna vedi intended for Shree Ram naam-jap.

In no time, the langoor bent over.

The caption on the image read, “Hanuman Dada ke anek roop (many forms of Lord Hanuman)”.

A video of a monkey clinging to a saffron dhwaj (flag) is purportedly recorded on January 22, the day of Balak Ram’s ‘pran prathistha’ at Ram Temple Ayodhya.

According to a user on X, “Hanuman ji will be the happiest bhakt to see Lord Shri Ram virajman in Ayodhya Nagri,” the incidence is related to Hanuman’s devotion and love for Lord Ram.

Events like this one, which honor Hanuman and his significance in Lord Ram’s life, are praised as heavenly. Whether by accident or not, Lord Ram’s followers could not help but exclaim, “Jai Shree Ram (glory to Lord Ram),” when they saw the monkeys and langoors surrendering to their “Lord.”

YOGIRAJ ARUN TALKS ABOUT MONKEY VISITS
Subsequently, Arun Yogiraj, the sculptor of Balak Ram, recounted an unexpected tale of a monkey that would pay frequent trips to see the creation of the Lord Ram idol.

“It used to come and knock on the door when we covered the gate in the winter. It used to come every day at the same hour, but I wasn’t sure whether it was the same monkey. When I mentioned it to Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, he said that maybe it too wanted to view the idol of Lord Ram, according to Arun Yogiraj.

THE RAM MANDIR MOVEMENT’S CLASSIC MONKEY PHOTO
Monkeys and the Ram Mandir movement have a long history together.

Prior to the ‘pran pratishtha’ event on January 22, the public was made aware of a famous picture associated with that relationship.

On October 30, 1990, hundreds of armed security guards and barriers were overcome by “karsevaks,” or volunteer workers, who then raised saffron flags atop the Babri Masjid.

The karsevaks were lathi-charged and shot at, and eventually forced out. The saffron flags were then taken down by security staff.

But for hours, a monkey perched atop the central dome protected one of the flags from being taken down. The security staff was only able to take down the flag late at night, after the monkey left.

In 1992, the controversial Babri Masjid was destroyed. A protracted legal struggle over the property culminated in the Supreme Court’s historic ruling in 2019.

Near the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi site, a magnificent Ram temple has just been constructed.

One day after the ‘pran pratishtha’ ritual, there is where the “beautiful Hanuman appearance” happened. The ‘garbha griha’ (sanctum sanctorum) of the Ram Mandir, where the idol of Ram Lalla was kept, was allegedly breached by a monkey, according to the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

According to the trust, the security staff mistook the monkey’s arrival for a “divine blessing” and believed that Lord Hanuman was paying Ram Lalla a visit. This supported the reports of strange “Hanuman” sightings that occurred during the Ramn Mandir celebration days.
