Woman killed by her betrayed boyfriend the night before her engagement

PRAYAGRAJ: On Tuesday night, a day before her engagement day, a 21-year-old lady is said to have been shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend in Raghna Chatarpur hamlet, which is located within the boundaries of the Antoo police station in Pratapgarh district.

On Wednesday morning, the neighbor’s fodder shed contained the body of Shalu Verma, a native of Raikha village. After the event, Jaichandra Verma, a 22-year-old primary accused, fled the area, and the police sent the corpse for a postmortem examination.

To guarantee his apprehension, two police teams have been established.

The victim and the accused shared a neighbor. Santosh Kumar Verma, the brother of the victim, filed a police report (FIR) at the Antoo police station after the occurrence, alleging that the lady was killed by Jaichandra Verma (22), Karamchandra, Meera Devi, and Shanti Devi, who were all inhabitants of Raghna Chhatarpur village. The complaint was filed under sections 302 and 34 of the IPC.

In the FIR, Santosh also claimed that Jaichandra Verma had been harassing his sister for a long time and that he had unsuccessfully protested to Jaychandra’s parents. Additionally, he said that despite his complaints, Jaichandra’s cousin Karamchandra and other family members took no action.

According to Santosh, his sister was afraid Jaichandra would go too far and maybe hurt her family. Her engagement to a guy from the nearby hamlet was scheduled for Wednesday, and their marriage was set.
The lady had left her home on Tuesday night, according to preliminary police investigations, and her corpse was found on Wednesday morning at the residence of the chief accused. When the woman’s relatives discovered her missing, they went to the local police outpost.

The primary accused and three other people have been charged with murder, and the police are now conducting an investigation.
