Beneath wallpaper, a UK widow discovers her husband’s love letter, written 64 years ago

Before the invention of cellphones, the main method of showing love to someone was via love notes. Val, a lady, just came over a sentimental letter written by her late spouse. For more than 64 years, the letter remained concealed behind the wallpaper.

Devon City, England homeowner Val was remodeling her house to provide a unique space for her granddaughter. She discovered the love note with her name and address scrawled behind the wallpaper during the renovations. Val had never heard of Rose before, but she was the recipient of the love letter. Her name was written with a love icon and her wedding date next to it.

The August 1960 letter that Ken Perot sent to Val, his future wife, turned up while Val’s house was being renovated. It was signed with a heart, and it brought Val to tears. Their wedding was set for March 1961, and the letter was written in August 1960.

On the walls, more love letters addressed to Val were found. When Ken was twenty-one, they met in 1959 at a dance in Exmouth. He overcome obstacles since he was in a relationship. But Ken and Val were engaged in a few of months. He penned a letter to his future wife at that period. Val still treasures Ken’s memories even after he passed away in 1996.

The touching narrative moved users, who remembered Val as a devoted mother and Ken as a wonderful father. They spoke back to one other about their pre-wedding chats. When they shared a house, Val was ignorant of the words that Ken had scrawled on the walls. A number of social media users expressed their opinions about the love tale. A user conveyed melancholy. Another user thought that Ken would be pleased to watch this moment if he were there.

A guy named Rick Trojanowski discovered an incredible find in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which led to a similarly similar narrative. In 2017, while going through a toolbox that had been purchased at a farm auction, he came across a long-lost love letter written by Army Corporal Irvin G. Fleming 70 years ago. The author wrote the letter as a memorial to Grand Rapids resident Mary Lee Cribbs.
