Delhi Police Post On Taking A Break Goes Viral With The Phrase “Visit Beautiful Lakshadweep”

A few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep, a major issue was generated by a post made by a Maldivian minister. Following this, a number of Indian celebrities showed their support for the beaches and tourist destinations in the area. Using its social media accounts, the Delhi Police now promoted increasing tourism in Lakshadweep on Monday.

The Delhi Police shared a picture of the island with the remark, “Humara (our) Island is lovely and exquisite,” along with a warning not to drive under stress. Obtain enough rest. Have a rest. Go to the stunning Lakshadweep.”

The message became well-known on social media, receiving a lot of likes and encouraging comments from people.

“Again, a well-appreciated post by the Delhi police, and hats off to the team behind this page for creating interesting posts with some learning,” said an individual.

Another person said, “Thank you Delhi Police for promoting Indian tourism.”

The Maldivian ambassador to India was called to the ministry of external affairs on Monday and expressed grave concern on the comments made by many Maldivian politicians against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media.

Following Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep, the Maldivian government dismissed three of its deputy ministers on Sunday, citing their criticism of Modi’s post on X and their implied attempt to position the Union Territory as a tourism destination apart from the Maldives.

The foreign ministry of the Maldives stated that although the government is aware of “derogatory remarks” made against foreign leaders on social media, the opinions expressed are personal and do not always reflect the views of the nation.

The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) has also vehemently denounced insulting statements made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian people by government representatives in the nation that depends heavily on tourism.

Declaring India to be among the Maldives’ closest allies and neighbors, MATI pointed out that throughout the island nation’s history, India has always been the first to respond to major emergencies.

“India is among our closest allies and neighbors. Throughout our history, India has consistently been the first to respond to emergencies, and we are incredibly appreciative of the close ties that the Indian government and people have maintained with us,” a statement from MAITI said.

It emphasized how India has “consistently and significantly contributed to the Maldives’ tourism industry.” After the borders were reopened, it was said that India had “greatly assisted” the Maldives’ recovery efforts from the COVID-19 epidemic.
