View a different Ram Lalla idol that was not able to enter the Ram Mandir’s sanctum sanctorum

Although one Ram Lalla idol is already housed in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s hallowed sanctum sanctorum, two others, which are as exquisite in their workmanship, are still awaiting their ultimate location inside the temple complex. One such idol, created by sculptor Ganesh Bhatt from a special black stone, has drawn interest lately from both art fans and worshipers. Now, images of this celebrity have surfaced.

The 51-inch statue, which echoes the purity of the five-year-old Ram Lalla, was carved from Krishna Shila, a black stone that came from the lush fields of Hegadadevana Kote in Mysuru, Karnataka.

The Trust that manages the Ram Mandir’s operations has guaranteed that Bhatt’s work would be kept in the temple precinct even if it was not selected for the holy sanctuary.

The sculptor Arun Yogiraj, who is located in Mysuru, created the idol that was finally chosen and is now displayed in the sanctum sanctorum. His masterwork, a 51-inch depiction of heavenly infancy, was painstakingly carved from a three billion-year-old rock that is recognized for its black schist or Krishna Shila color. This historic stone, which was unearthed from the Mysuru hamlet of Gujjegowdanapura, gives the statue a touch of timeless majesty.

Out of three commissioned murtis, the temple trust selected Arun Yogiraj’s Ram Lalla idol because it embodied the values of divinity and monarchy combined with childlike innocence. The idol has captured the hearts of believers and bystanders with its beautiful face lighted by the moon and eyes that resemble lotus petals.

Four different idols of Ram Lalla will be housed in the Ram Mandir: the original idol, the one that was recently placed in the sanctum sanctorum, and the two more that were made by Bhatt and Satyanarayan Pandey.
