Internet users are divided over a video of cats mock-attacking snakes; some are impressed by their reflexes, while others are alarmed

One of the characteristics that cats most often exhibit is playfulness, as seen by the various postings and movies that can be found online. Although these fluffy cats can play with nearly anything, mice and birds consistently rank at the top of the list. However, a recent video showing several cats engaging in a fight with snakes that circulated on social media split the internet’s users. The film featured a collection of many occurrences in which cats of all ages—from adults to kittens—were seen chasing and playing with snakes. The movie divided the online community; while some were impressed, others were alarmed.

User ‘Eugenia Dinu’ posted the video on social networking platform X (previously Twitter). Spanish was used for the caption, which approximately translates as “The cat’s reflexes are impressive.”

The video started out with a cat and snake fight. The snake was attempting to bite the cat, which was observed sitting in a box. The snake ultimately withdrew after a flurry of assaults and fierce hissing, leaving the cat unhurt. The next occurrence in the video included a cat attempting to pounce on a little snake. The battle intensified until the cat repeatedly jumped to defeat the snake’s attempts to wrap around it. Then, in a subsequent occurrence, a little snake attempted to flee from a cat, but the kitten undoubtedly had other intentions. The kitten continued to assault the snake as though it were still amusing itself with the animal.

People were amazed by the video, particularly cat lovers, and it quickly gained popularity. The majority of people praised the cats’ quick reactions in the video, however other people voiced their worry for the cats and said that they would have guarded their pets in the same circumstances. Since August 5, the video has received 5 million views.

The internet users expressed their opinions in the comment section.

One person commented, “Cats are from a different planet.” Another individual chimed in, “I wouldn’t start recording, I’d come out in defense of my cat.” “They respond more quickly than snakes. It may turn into a game for them,” third joined. A fourth person said, “There was a lot of bush surrounding when I moved to my new house; my cat saved me from snake. A fifth individual remembered, “I protected one of my cats from a snake a few days ago. A sixth netizen said, “There was an old Jacky Chan movie where he learned a lethal kung Fu technique by witnessing a cat killing a snake.
