The internet believes that this groom knows what “Ek Chutki Sindoor” really means

In the dynamic realm of marriage, partners often question established traditions and practices that many see as archaic. These incidents revitalize long-standing customs while dispelling misconceptions in the process. One notable example from recent times is when a groom requested his wife to place sindoor on his forehead, which was an unexpected gesture. Typically, the bride’s forehead is covered with sindoor, applied by the husband.

Instagram users saw the moving video posted by the well-known “Humans of Bombay” platform. This account also detailed Kush Rathor’s path from a fortuitous meeting at the gym to a happy union with Kasak Gupta, his lover.

Fitness instructor Kush Rathor remembers with fondness the first time he saw Kasak through a juice store window. Kush hesitated to approach her a bit because he thought she was “beyond his league.”

Kush learned that Kasak was a senior at Bangalore University in 2013. He made an attempt to start a conversation with her. His awkward introduction didn’t stop their relationship from growing. Kush and Kasak overcame family objections and strengthened their relationship over time after being rejected at first, finally getting married in December 2022.

Kush put sindoor on Kasak’s forehead during their wedding ceremony as a sign that he expected her to do the same. Kush thought it was the “bare minimum” of showing affection, so he was taken aback when the video went viral on social media. “I was unable to comprehend why. That was, after all, the very minimum? And you’ll stop at nothing to make the person you love smile and have bright eyes, haina? said Kush.

The touching act captured the attention of onlookers, and the video rapidly went viral on the internet. Congratulation messages were pouring in, with one user highlighting Kush’s bravery for acting so daringly in front of their family. “I’ve seen better reels recently than this one. To do it in front of the whole family requires the fortitude of a true guy. Bravo,” said one user, while another said, “So gorgeous!!” Seeing people like them in real life seems surreal!

The couple’s love tale served as an inspiration to others; one user said, “When I read these stories, I understand that true love does exist.” Similar to Kush, another user said that while the gesture could seem like the “bare minimum,” it’s also “rare” in today’s society.
