This House Made of Gold in New Jersey Is For Sale

A married couple has advertised a lavish New Jersey property decorated with genuine gold leaf for sale, providing a window into rich life. Sheree and Daniel G. Funsch, both executives in the beauty business, used an astounding 47,000 sheets of 22-karat gold leaf to construct Chateau Sheree, their dream house. The price of this opulent house, which is 16,000 square feet, is now $9.995 million (about Rs 83.38 crore), which is a startling $6 million (around Rs 50.05 crore) less than its building costs.

The couple started building this opulent house in 2012, but their journey really began in 2007 when they paid $2 million (about Rs 16.68 crore) for the land. They spent an additional $14 million (approximately Rs 33.36 crore) building and landscaping their opulent home over the years.

Only 15 miles northwest of New York City is Chateau Sheree, which has a number of opulent amenities. Eight bedrooms, a stunning 13 fireplaces, a home theater, and two bars are all included in this opulent mansion. Visitors are welcomed by an impressive entryway that has a Cinderella staircase, is surrounded by gold-finished pillars, and has white marble flooring as a background. The opulence doesn’t stop there; the entrance also includes a dome with a cherub mural inspired by Francois Boucher paintings, treasured by the Funsch couple throughout their trips around Europe.

The Funsches invested a lot of time, energy, and money ($1.5 million) on commissioning murals and applying gold leaf in order to create this unique style. This careful procedure took eight months to complete.

The home extends to a huge garden with a pool, a Jacuzzi in the middle, plush lounge chairs all around, and a cabana with a kitchen. The estate has plenty of parking for motor aficionados, including a four-car garage with lifts that can hold up to eight vehicles.

LaDove, a manufacturer of personal care products, is led by Sheree Funsch. Former owner and CEO of Intarome Fragrance, Dan Funsch sold the business to a private equity firm and is currently the chairman of the board at Sheree’s organization.

The residence also has a salon where, according to Sheree, she has her hair done and checks out new beauty items.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Daniel said that he listed the home for less than he paid for it in order to compete in the neighborhood market. Additionally, he said that he did not build the home for a profit but rather for the delight of his wife and family, which is fortunate given that the house is now on the market at a $6 million loss.

A private cinema theater with rows of red leather chairs and two people standing in stalls on each side of the enormous screen is also located in the estate. The mansion’s two bars, which have high bar stools and mood lighting, provide a club-like atmosphere. The estate also boasts a pool area and a gym that is completely furnished with exercise equipment.

Though they are heartbroken to be leaving their ideal home in New Jersey, the Funsches now spend the most of their time aboard their superyacht. In order to maximize their boating time, the couple intends to relocate to a waterfront property in Red Bank, New Jersey. The couple also own real estate in Wyoming, the Bahamas, and Florida.
