All flights by Air India to and from Tel Aviv are halted till April 30

In response to the developing situation in the Middle East, Indian airline Air India on Friday canceled all of its flights to and from Tel Aviv until April 30, 2024, amid escalating tensions between regional heavyweights Israel and Iran.

“Due to the changing circumstances in the Middle East, our flights to and from Tel Aviv will continue to be stopped until April 30, 2024. We are offering assistance to our passengers who have confirmed reservations for travel to and from Tel Aviv at this time, along with a one-time remission of rescheduling and cancellation fees, as we continue to closely monitor the situation. The safety of our passengers and staff is our first concern, and we would like to stress that,” says Air India.

Direct flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv were temporarily halted, according to a statement made by an Air India representative only last Sunday.

Notably, on March 3, the airline owned by the Tata group resumed service to the Israeli capital after a nearly five-month hiatus.

Following the Hamas assault on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, Air India initially halted flights to and from the city on October 7, 2023.

There are four weekly flights by Air India connecting the Israeli city and the nation’s capital.

For the same reason, a number of foreign passenger airline firms have canceled their flights in recent days.

Following Iran’s missile and drone strikes on Israel, German airline firm Lufthansa also halted flights to Amman, Beirut, Erbil, and Tel Aviv on April 15.

Etihad Airways, located in the United Arab Emirates, followed suit and canceled flights to Amman and Tel Aviv. Due to temporary airspace constraints in the area, Emirates Airlines also had to reschedule some of its flights and cancel others from late April 13 to early April 15.
