Fischer Introduces Undercut Anchor FSU: Superior Performance for Elevated Expectations

The ground-breaking FSU-undercut anchor, a new product in Fischer India’s portfolio created to satisfy the needs of high-load concrete applications, was recently introduced. “This innovative anchor not only delivers exceptional performance but also introduces enhanced installation efficiency with its self-undercutting capability,” said Mayank Kalra, Managing Director of Fischer India.

Furthermore, the FSU emphasizes its dedication to promoting the digitization of fastening solutions by including a Data Matrix Code (DMC), which provides easy-to-use product identification and data accessibility.”

The self-undercutting FSU undercut anchor made of galvanized steel is ideal for applications with high load and safety requirements and is beneficial to heavy steel and facility construction, nuclear power plants, refinery projects, power stations, infrastructure projects, and the oil and gas industry. It was designed for use with heavy-duty fasteners to secure industrial machinery, steel buildings, bulkhead pipes, and many other interior fixtures and attachment pieces in both cracked and uncracked concrete.

When fastening operations are made in cracked concrete, the European Technical Assessment (ETA) ensures safety (option 1). The plug may also be used in earthquake-prone locations since it is authorized for seismic applications in categories C1 and C2. Additionally, it is a safe option for anchoring installation systems like extinguishing systems (VdS sprinklers) or in the case of a fire (R120 fire evaluation). It is basic and straightforward to set up. Pre-positioned installation (FSU) and push-through (FSU-P) are made possible by two distinct undercut anchor variants. Using the FSU-ST setup tool, the anchor is inserted into a drill hole made with the FSU-SD stop drill bit. After clearing the drill hole, the FSU-ST setup tool is used to insert the anchor. The anchor forms a flush connection by self-cutting into the undercut.

The FSU achieves a very high load and safety level by precisely fitting into the substrate, transferring forces and anchoring without much expansion. Its self-undercutting mechanism and six cutting teeth allow for forceful and accurate placements in concrete, as well as quick and safe installation. Even in the case of significant crack development and extensive crack widths in seismic locations, the low expansion forces enable extremely low edge and axial spacing without spalling and give optimum safety and ultimate flexibility for all applications.

Another benefit is the unique plastic component that secures the FSU in the drill hole, keeping the anchor from dropping out and facilitating easy and secure overhead installation. Easy-to-use indicators on the plug and setting tool (FSU-ST) provide extra safety while facilitating a rapid visual assembly inspection. If necessary, the anchor may be swiftly removed without leaving a trace using the DSU-DT disassembly tool.

The Data Matrix Code, or DMC, on the anchor allows for the identification and reading of product data. The Fischer PRO app makes it simple to scan the code and examine all of the scanned product’s details right there in the app. The download section contains the ETA and other data that users may download. This feature enables the data to be preserved and ensures accurate and adaptable transparency.
