Bihar: Elder Brother of Education Minister Joins BJP

Ram Chandra Prasad Yadav, the older brother of Chandra Shekhar and a key RJD politician, has joined the BJP, claiming that Lalu Prasad’s party accomplished “nothing” to advance Dalits and other marginalized groups.

At the state unit headquarters of the party in Patna on Friday, Yadav formally joined the saffron camp in the presence of top party officials. After joining the saffron party, Yadav assured reporters that he will certainly run against the RJD from the Madhepura assembly seat, which is now held by his younger brother.

“Prime Minister Narender Modi did a lot for them, while the RJD did nothing for the upliftment of Dalits and those belonging to the marginalized sections of society,” he said. Madhepura’s Chandra Shekhar is a three-term MLA.
