Rajasthan Health Minister detects fraud involving phony NoCs for organ transplant cases valued at crores

May 10, Jaipur The fraudulent NOCs granted in organ transplant cases appear like a scam worth crores, according to Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, and those found guilty would not go unpunished.

Speaking to the media, he said that he had been granted seven days by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to look into the matter and that on Thursday, he had sent the Governor a comprehensive report.

In order to ensure that those responsible for the crime are placed behind bars, Khimsar said, he has also made a demand to the Chief Minister to initiate a SIT investigation into the subject soon after the paper leak case.

The Minister went on to say that since 2020, fictitious NoCs for organ transplantation have been granted. Surprisingly, the state administration has no record of the NOCs that were given between 2020 and 2022. With the files transferred from the bureaucrat to the CM office, the function of senior officials employed by the previous administration is also in doubt. Iqbal Khan, the health commissioner, is working on the final report, which will further elucidate the situation,” he said.

Khimsar further said that RUHS VC Sudhir Bhandari’s employment history may be looked at.

In reality, Bhandari went to the governor’s office on Thursday and submitted his resignation after learning that he would be dismissed.

Additionally, Governor Kalraj Mishra accepted his resignation, effective immediately.

“Governor Kalraj Mishra has accepted Dr. Sudhir Bhandari’s resignation as Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, with immediate effect,” the governor’s office said.

Notably, Dr. Bhandari met with the governor upon arriving at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and then gave him his letter of resignation.

Additionally, Dhananjay Aggarwal, a senior professor in the department of nephrology at Sawai Mansingh Medical College in Jaipur, was given orders by Mishra, after consulting with the state government, to serve as the RUHC vice chancellor in the interim until further directives or the appointment of a permanent vice chancellor are given.
