Due to a shortage of equipment, a hospital in Bihar substitutes a Sprite bottle for a urine bag

Due to a lack of medical supplies, staff personnel at a hospital in Bihar used a Sprite bottle on a patient on Monday evening instead of a urine bag. According to media accounts, the patient was carried unconscious to Sadar Hospital.

According to reports, after a thorough examination, the doctor directed the assisting staff to give the patient a urinal bag and give an insulin injection along with a gas pipe for resuscitation. However, the hospital staff reportedly attached a Sprite bottle in place of a urine bag, putting the patient’s life at risk.

According to media sources, the patient’s family was unable to contact Ramesh Pandey, the hospital manager, on Monday night. The required preparations were taken on Tuesday morning once the situation was made known.

Ramesh Pandey said in his defense that he was ignorant of the hospital’s lack of urine bags and made preparations as soon as he learned of it when asked about the hospital’s incompetence.

“The guy in charge had broken his leg. As a result, I was not made aware of the medication scarcity, Ramesh said, adding that the necessary preparations had been made for the supply.
