Found Hanging Inside the Bihar Police Station, the Arrested Woman

On Monday, a police station in the West Champaran district of Bihar discovered a lady hanging inside, who had been taken into custody in relation to a murder investigation, according to an official.

The accused was taken into custody in relation to a case involving dowry deaths, and she was placed in the women’s barracks at the Shikarpur police station in Bettiah, West Champaran’s district headquarters.

It is suspected by the police that she took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan while wearing her sari, just before she was scheduled to appear in court. “The event happened after the barracks’ police ladies went outside to gather paperwork to be presented to the court. Jaiprakash Singh, the Bettiah Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), told reporters, “When they went back to the barrack, they found her hanging.”

According to him, the lady was brought to a hospital and later pronounced deceased. An investigation of the occurrence by a magistrate has been mandated. According to the SDPO, police are also looking into any mistakes made by the personnel tasked with watching after her within the barrack.
