IT raids targeted homes connected to Bihar’s Buxar RJD MLA Shambhu Nath Yadav
In the Buxar district of Bihar, income tax inspectors reportedly inspected homes connected to RJD MLA Shambhu Nath Yadav on Wednesday.
Yadav, the Brahampur MLA, is said to be close to RJD leader Lalu Prasad.
The searches were connected to a case of tax evasion that authorities said included the politician, but they would not provide any information.
His home in the Brahampur neighbourhood of Chakki is one of the locations being examined, they added.
It was unable to get in touch with Yadav for a comment despite many tries.
The RJD said that the searches were carried out because the BJP was scared of it.
“The BJP targets RJD leaders with the help of the ED, CBI, and IT Department. Party spokesman Mrityunjay Tiwary said, “It is clear that the rulers in Delhi are afraid of RJD and its leaders, which is why they are using central agencies against us.”
