Reducing school holidays has angered Bihar’s chief minister, with the BJP calling it “anti-Hindu”

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar came under heavy fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the fewer vacations. BJP MP Sushil Modi made fun of Kumar by claiming that the chief minister of Bihar had shown anti-Hindu sentiment.

“The Bihar administration, headed by Nitish Kumar, has chosen to offend Hindu sensitivities and shown an anti-Hindu front. Modi was cited by ANI as stating, “The holidays for Muslim festivals have been increased, while holidays for Hindu festivals have been selectively reduced.”

Union Minister Ashwini Choubey said that the JDU-RJD administration’s anti-Hindu face has once again emerged, branding Nitish Kumar the “master of appeasement politics” and asserting that the Bihar government “hates Sanatan for vote bank.”

The seasoned BJP politician added, “Once again, the uncle-nephew government’s anti-Hindu face came to the fore,” in a post on social networking site X. On the one hand, school breaks for Muslim holidays are becoming longer, while those for Hindu holidays are getting smaller.”

“Shame on the government that hates Sanatan for the vote bank,” said the message.

According to Minister of Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh, Nitish Kumar has sent out a “Tughlak farman” three times.

He said in a video message shared on his social media site X, “The way Lalu Yadav and the Nitish government are attacking Hindus, in the future they will be known as Mohammad Nitish and Mohammad Lalu.”

According to reports, the Bihar education department unveiled the 2024 vacation schedule on Monday, stating that the schedule was made to guarantee at least 220 teaching days in accordance with the Right to Education.

There have reportedly been significant changes made to the holiday schedule for 2024, including an increase in the amount of summer vacation days from 20 to 30.

The education department has extended Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) to three days each, whereas Hartalika Teej and Jitiya no longer have vacations.
