The Bihar BJP believes the caste-based census has its “full support,” but it “needs improvement”

Vijay Kumar Sinha, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar legislature, on Tuesday gave the caste-based census his complete support but also called attention to a minor issue. “It needs to be improved.” After attending the assembly’s all-party meeting, Sinha recalled that he questioned Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, about the method for conducting the survey when many people reside outside the state. He said, “The CM was gazing at the authorities.

“This (the census), which would assure the upliftment of the impoverished, has our utmost support. The census has to be improved since it has a number of faults, Sinha told the press.

The Bihar government issued a set of statistics from its caste-based census on Monday, putting the percentage of the state’s population belonging to the backward and extremely backward classes (EBCs) at 27% and 36%, respectively. Vivek Kumar Singh, the state’s acting chief secretary, stated that after releasing the data, a more thorough study will be done.

Sinha has previously criticized the Bihar administration, alleging that the cast-based census was carried out to sow discord in the region. He said that the report included nothing new. “This is to incite unrest in Bihar. They lack an outlook on the future, societal peace, or progress, he had already said.

The findings of the caste survey would be given to leaders of nine political parties in the state legislature on Tuesday at 3.30 p.m., Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said after releasing the data.

Another key decision was made by the Nitish Kumar government, which authorized 10% EWS reservation in the judicial system and state-run law schools and colleges. The action is considered as an attempt by the Nitish administration to counter claims from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that caste-based division of Hindus was a goal of opposition parties like the Congress and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United.
