7th Pay Commission: State Government Employees Will See A 4% DA Hike; Find Out How Much Will Increase

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday announced a 4% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government workers, in accordance with the Central government. The Center raised the DA for government workers from 42% to 46%, and the Haryana government followed suit with this declaration.

According to the chief minister, the state government would increase the daily allowance (DA) for its workers starting on July 1, 2023. This will help around 3.5 lakh employees in Haryana.

Announcing the DA raise, Chief Minister Khattar addressed the media on the occasion of his government’s ninth year in office. He also highlighted a number of accomplishments throughout this period, along with people-focused and public welfare initiatives implemented under his administration.

Some states, like Odisha, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, had already declared increases in dearness allowance for their government workers ahead of Diwali, before Haryana. A 4% DA boost for workers has been declared by certain states, while a 3% DA raise has been announced by others.

4% DA Increase Said For Government Employees in Tamil Nadu
The 4% DA increase for government workers, which would take effect from July 1, 2023, was announced last week by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. He said that this measure will assist around 16 lakh state government employees, teachers, retirees, and family pensioners.

In May of this year, the state government increased the death benefit (DA) for public workers and pensioners by 4%. There was an increase in the DA from 42% to 46%.

4% DA Hike Announced For Government Employees in Odisha
Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, increased the dearness allowance for state workers by 4% last week. Following this most recent increment, the DA and DR have risen from 42% to 46%. CM Naveen Patnaik said that the increased sum would be paid retroactively starting on July 1, 2023. 3.5 lakh Odisha pensioners and 4.5 lakh state government workers would benefit from the DA boost.

4% DA Hike Announced For Government Employees In Karnataka
Karnataka is the most recent state to declare a boost in the Department of Agriculture (DA). The state government workers’ DA was raised by 3.75%, and Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the DA will be revised from the current 35 percent to 38.75 percent. The increase would require the state administration to take out an extra Rs 1,109 crore from the state coffers.
