By 2025, RACEnergy hopes to produce 2.5 million swappable batteries at its new battery production facility in T’gana

RACEnergy, a deep-tech electric vehicle infrastructure business with headquarters in Hyderabad, has opened a new 10,000 square foot battery manufacturing plant here.

According to a press statement from the firm, the facility opened on Wednesday is outfitted with a 50 MWh battery manufacturing machine that can produce 30,000 batteries annually.

This accomplishment is in line with RACEnergy’s aim of 80,000 two- and three-wheelers by 2025, and it represents a substantial advancement towards their goal of having 2,50,000 swappable batteries in use over the same period.

According to the firm, the new facility will provide engineers and designers a collaborative setting to push the limits of innovation, furthering the development of cutting-edge battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), and greatly increase the company’s manufacturing capacity.

Arun Sreyas, co-founder of RACEnergy, stated, “The opening of our new facility marks a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionise the electric mobility sector and will cater to 25% of our goal of targeting 80,000 two and three-wheelers by 2025.”

With 500 swaps each day on the network, he said, “our facility will enable us to effectively address the growing demand and increase our market presence globally.”

“We are committed to localising critical components of the EV value stream, and the new facility will enable us to achieve in-house production of EV and battery parts,” stated Gautham Maheswaran, Co-Founder of RACEnergy.

“With greater manufacturing capacity, we can supply both the local and foreign markets and enhance battery consumption. The strategic layout of the facility fully supports our objective of growing our battery swapping solutions across various vehicle segments,” he said.
