Closing Bell: Positive Finish to the Day for Markets; Sensex at 69,928.53 and Nifty at 20,994.50
The markets finished at a fresh all-time high today.
The Nifty finished at an all-time high of 20,994.50, up 25.10 points, or 0.12 percent, while the BSE Sensex gained 102.93 points, or 0.15 percent, to conclude at 69,928.53.
Nifty Bank increased its position by 22.25 points to 47,284.25.
Axis Bank, M&M, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti, and Wipro were among the laggards in the Sensex pack, while UltraTech Cement, Nestle India, PowerGrid, HCLTech, and Tata Motors were among the top gainers.
Among the winners from Nifty Pack were UPL, UltraTech Cement, ONGC, LTIM, and Bajaj-Auto. BPCL, M&M, Axis Bank, Cipla, Dr. Reddy Laboratories, and Axis Bank were a few of the losers.
The Nifty breached the 21,000 barrier and reached a high of 21,026.10 for the day during intraday trade, while the Sensex crossed the 70,000 barrier and reached 70,057.83.
Monday Morning Markets
On Monday, the markets began the day with gains: the Nifty was up 10.70 points at 20,980.10 and the Sensex was up 85.93 at 69,911.53. Nifty Bank was up 198.70 points, or 0.42 percent, at 47,460.70 during the morning trading session.
