Elon Musk says Tesla would soon arrive in India during PM Modi’s visit to the US

On the first day of his historic three-day trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the owner of Twitter. After the encounter, Musk told reporters, “I’m a fan of Modi.”

According to Musk, India has greater potential than any other major nation in the world for the future. “The PM really cares about India because he is pursuing us to make a significant investment in India,” he said.

According to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, the PM asked Musk to investigate potential investment possibilities in India for the quickly growing commercial space industry and electric transportation.

Musk said that he intended to go to India the following year. He said that India is a fantastic country to invest in solar power.

The CEO of Tesla promised that his electric vehicle company will enter India as soon as was humanly feasible. He also expressed optimism that an announcement would be made in the not too distant future.

According to Musk, PM Modi wants to assist new businesses while making sure that they benefit India.

It was great to meet you, @elonmusk! We had in-depth discussions on a variety of topics, from energy to spirituality,” Modi tweeted after his meeting with Musk.

It was a pleasure to see you again, Musk said. Earlier in 2015, when Modi visited the Tesla Motors facility in California, he first met Musk.

Additionally, Musk intends to launch Starlink Internet Services in India. According to him, “the services can connect rural towns that either have no connectivity or have expensive Internet.” India has a lot of promise in each of the three pillars of sustainable energy, he said.

Tesla executives visited India last month and spoke with Indian ministries and officials about establishing a vehicle and battery production facility there.

Musk said that India would make a good location for a new factory and that Tesla will likely decide on a site before the end of this year.

In light of the tensions between the US and China, US-based businesses want to rely less on China for production. Tesla put a halt to its efforts to enter India last year owing to the country’s hefty import taxes.
