Here’s Why Apple Vision Pro Owners Are Having Health Problems

Some early users of Apple’s new mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, are reporting health problems that might be related to the weight or design of the gadget. Concerning testimonies from customers who had headaches, neck discomfort, and even black eyes after usage of the Vision Pro are highlighted in a MarketWatch story.

Emily Olman, the Chief of Marketing at Hopscotch Interactive, was among the users who reported seeing “superdark black eyes” after her first headset usage. She says this is because the straps of the headset are pressing on her cheeks. Another Vision Pro owner, Ian Beacraft, CEO of Signal, spoke about his battles with chronic discomfort in his upper back and base of his skull.

Uncomfortable situations are not the only ones. On internet sites like as Reddit, complaints of headaches, eye strain, and overall discomfort brought on by the device’s weight are also appearing. Some users have been lucky enough to find relief using third-party attachments or adjusted straps, while others have not.

Apple has not yet formally responded to these consumer complaints. MarketWatch contacted them, but they declined to respond, referring them to their regular user instructions instead. During the first 30 minutes of usage, these rules advise taking frequent pauses and halting completely if any pain occurs. Notably, if consumers feel discomfort, headaches, or strain in their eyes, Apple recommends avoiding using the product longer.

As the Vision Pro is still a relatively new product, it is unclear whether Apple will take notice of these customer reviews and maybe modify the design of the device to solve comfort issues. Prospective purchasers should put their health first and be aware of these possible health problems in the meantime.
