How to view files on Google Drive while you’re not online

It may be quite handy to view your Google Drive files without an internet connection, particularly in scenarios where Wi-Fi or cellular data access is restricted or unavailable. Thankfully, Google Drive has options that let you view and edit your files offline, guaranteeing productivity even in non-online settings.

Without an internet connection, you may view Google Drive files as follows:
Publish files for offline access:
* On your Android or iOS mobile device, open the Google Drive app.
* Decide which folders or files you want to be able to access offline.
* Select “Make available offline” (iOS) or “Available offline” (Android) by tapping the three dots menu.
* To enable offline access, a selection of files will be downloaded and saved locally on your device.
Use desktop Google Chrome:
* From the Chrome Web Store, install the “Google Docs Offline” extension.
* Activate the addon and log in using your Google credentials.
* Choose “Create, open and edit your recent Google Docs, Sheets and Slides files on this device while offline” from the preferences after opening Drive in Chrome.
* You will be able to view your previously visited files offline.
Limitations on offline access: * Only a limited number of file types, including PDFs, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, are supported. There are few editing options available in offline mode. Upon reconnecting, the changes will be synchronized online. On your smartphone, downloaded files take up storage space.
A few things to keep in mind
* If you think you’ll need the files, be sure you download them before you disconnect.
* Availability and functionality of offline access may differ based on your device and Google Drive app version. Make sure your device has adequate storage capacity to hold the files you’ve downloaded.
