In May 2023, Odisha gets total GST of Rs 4,397.73 billion

In May 2023, Odisha reported a Gross GST collection of Rs 4,397.73 crore, an increase of 11.17 percent over the previous month’s collection of Rs 3,955.75 crore.

The cumulative gross GST collection as of May 23 was Rs. 9433.47 billion, up from Rs. 8,865.98 billion as of May 22, representing a growth rate of 6.40 percent.

Additionally, May 2023 saw a surge of 30.28 percent in the collection of the OGST and IGST settlement that would be kept by the state, with a collection of Rs 1,675.77 crore as opposed to Rs 1,286.29 crore in May 2022.

In comparison to the collection of Rs 2,966.29 crore till May 22, which represented an increase of 36.03 percent, the progressive collection to be kept by the State (OGST + IGST settlement) through May 23 stands at Rs 4,034.94 crore.

The total amount collected under all laws regulated by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha, including GST, VAT, entry tax, and profession tax, was Rs 2,711.04 crore in May 2023 as opposed to Rs 2,311.78 crore in May 2022, representing a 17.27 percent increase.

20.40 lakh waybills were created in May 2023 compared to 17.26 lakh waybills were produced in May 2022, an increase of 18.19 percent, according to official data, demonstrating the health of the economy.
