IndiGo launches a passenger in-flight entertainment system

Major airline IndiGo said on Tuesday that it would introduce a new in-flight entertainment content system with the goal of enhancing the traveller experience via “continuous digitization.”

According to the firm, it has updated its software so users can now view hit TV series and movies, play games, access moving maps, and listen to a variety of music genres while traveling at 30,000 feet.

Customers traveling on the Delhi-Goa route starting on May 1 will be able to use this new option using the IndiGo app.

“IndiGo will test new entertainment material as part of the continuing, constant endeavor to improve the customer experience via digitization. The experiment, which will be accessible to passengers via the IndiGo app while they are in flight, will begin on May 1, 2024, and last for three months, the firm said in a statement. The trial will be limited to passengers traveling between Delhi and Goa.

With the IndiGo app, users can access over 200 hours of material in a variety of forms and genres, including well chosen Hollywood and Indian films, television series, and timeless hits. It also said that kids may use the moving map function to play a fun treasure hunt game while traveling.

“We at IndiGo know that traveling is about more than simply getting where you’re going; it’s also about having fun along the way. We have included this new function as an extension of our mobile app to give, as a trial, a varied choice of entertainment alternatives to our consumers, keeping in mind the increasing demands of the tech-savvy Indian traveler, said a senior official at IndiGo.

Carrying their own wired or Bluetooth headphones is required for passengers to use the in-flight trial service.
