Meta and CAIT will train 1 million traders using WhatsApp Business

In the next three years, Meta will work with the Confederation of All India merchants (CAIT) in a ground-breaking partnership to provide 1 million merchants the skills they need to succeed on WhatsApp Business.

The course materials and tests are offered in English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu to promote broad accessibility across India.

The Meta Small Business Academy (MSBA), a revolutionary project aiming at empowering 10 million small companies via improved knowledge, has also been publicly introduced by Meta.

This forward-thinking relationship will be carried out via several trade groups nationwide that are connected to CAIT.

An astounding 91% of surveyed small and medium-sized businesses in India presently use digital tools, according to a 2022 poll performed by Meta and IPSOS Public Affairs, underscoring the critical role that messaging applications and platforms play in communicating with clients. More than half of the respondents said WhatsApp helped them reach more people and grow their consumer base.

As Vice President (India) Sandhya Devanathan emphasised, “While the MSBA certification programme primarily benefits aspiring entrepreneurs, our collaboration with CAIT will empower traders across India to leverage the potential of the WhatsApp Business app, propelling their growth journeys to new heights.”

Optimisticly noting, “This ground-breaking initiative is set to unlock limitless growth opportunities for traders nationwide,” CAIT’s National Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal expressed hope. In order to better serve the changing demands of the trading community in the next months, we look forward to strengthening our cooperation with Meta as we grow our company and work to develop our employees’ digital skills.
