Meta’s Quest 3 VR Headset Debuts on the Market for $500 USD and Features Cutting-Edge Technology

Just days before Apple is anticipated to enter the headset market, Meta increased the production of its Quest series of virtual reality headsets on Thursday.

According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Instagram post, the new-generation Quest 3 will be sold later this year for a starting price of $500 and include increased performance and a slimmer design.

The next iteration, according to Zuckerberg, will be Meta’s “most powerful headset yet” and will provide the finest wireless experience for mixed and virtual reality.

He noted that further information will be revealed on September 27 at the yearly Meta Connect developers conference.

According to Meta, the starting price of the existing Quest 2 headsets will fall to $300.

At a Meta shareholders meeting this week, Zuckerberg said that the tech giant is still committed to developing towards a day when online life takes place in what is known as the “metaverse” of virtual worlds.

At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, Apple is anticipated to reveal details on its long-rumored virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) headgear, luring developers and software providers to start creating content immediately.

According to all sources, Apple intended to unveil a device that resembled fancy eyewear rather than a gaming headset, but it is really delivering something far bigger, according to Yory Wurmser, chief analyst at Insider Intelligence.

According to Wurmser, the goal is to get the product into the hands of early adopters and developers in order to establish the framework for the introduction of additional cutting-edge mixed-reality headsets over the next couple of years.
