Six TCS employees have been disciplined for favouring certain staffing companies: Chandrasekaran

According to Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran on Thursday, TCS has taken action against six employees who were found guilty of taking favours from certain staffing companies in the recruitment of contractual workers.

Chandrasekaran said during his speech at the TCS annual general meeting that the biggest exporter of IT services is looking at the involvement of three more workers.

In answer to inquiries from shareholders, he said, “We have banned six employees and also six companies.”

He said that in late February and early March, the firm received two independent whistleblower reports—one involving the employment of business partners or contract employees in the US and the other in India—and that both concerns were the subject of investigations.

The privileges these workers received, according to Chandrasekaran, are impossible to quantify, but the prohibited employees’ actions suggested that they were preferring certain businesses.

He stated, “The business will examine the whole BA (Business Associate) supplier management process, determine where the gaps are, and thoroughly tighten the procedure to guarantee that we do not have similar events.

A few media reports from earlier this month said that TCS had suspended certain workers for breaking the company’s code of conduct, and some had estimated the profits the employees had earned to be about Rs 100 crore.
