The 45-year-old son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, Vetri Duraisamy, was found dead on Monday afternoon in the Kinnaur area of Himachal Pradesh, after an eight-day search.

A top Himachal Pradesh police officer told TNIE that after a postmortem on Tuesday, the corpse would be given to the deceased’s family. According to those close to Duraisamy, the corpse would be transported to Chennai for the last ceremonies and stored in his CIT Nagar home. On the day, the final ceremonies will take place between 5 and 6 p.m.

While searching for a suitable site for his next project, Vetri had an accident. The driver of the automobile had a heart attack, causing it to swerve off the road and fall into the Sutlej.

A previous announcement from the Himachal Pradesh director general of police said that fragments of a human brain, thought to be Vetri’s, had been discovered in a stone along the riverbank.

Oct. 20, 2021 saw the release of Vetri’s feature film debut, “Endraavathu Oru Naal,” which starred Vidharth and Remya Nambeesan.
