For the next five years, Azim Premji and his son Rishad Premji have been reappointed to the Wipro board. For those who don’t know, Wipro has a market valuation of more than Rs 236000 crore, making it one of the top IT companies in India right now.

Rishad Premji, Azim Premji’s son, has been named executive chairman by the Wipro board of directors, while Azim Premji remains a non-executive, non-independent director. Few people are aware of Azim Premji’s sons, despite the fact that he was once wealthy than Mukesh Ambani and is regarded as one of India’s most giving individuals. Recall that, according to the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2023, Azim Premji and his family gave more over Rs 1774 crore in donations last year. Like his father Azim Premji, his son Rishad Premji is leading Wipro to unprecedented success.

Prior to being named Executive Chairman of Wipro in 2019, Rishad joined the company in 2007 and held a number of positions. After leading the international corporation to unprecedented heights for around 53 years, Azim Premji gave his son Rishad Premji the reins. Rishad Premji, who has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University in the US, was NASSCOM’s chairman for the 2018–19 fiscal year. Currently serving as Executive Chairman, Wipro Limited employs over 250,000 people across six continents.

Father Azim Premji recently gave his son Rishad Premji a gift of Wipro shares valued at Rs 250 crore. Rishad Premji, who now resides in Bangalore with his spouse and two children, received a drastic wage decrease that practically slashed his yearly income in half from the year before. In the fiscal year 2022–2023 the chairman of Wipro received less than 8 crore ($951,353) in pay. According to reports, Rishad made the decision to voluntarily reduce his salary in light of the poor results at Wipro’s IT services division. In 2019–20, Rishad made the decision to forgo a 31% wage increase because to the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, Rishad serves on the boards of the Azim Premji Foundation, Wipro-GE, and Wipro Enterprises Limited.
