Under the PM-KUSUM programme, Alpex Solar secures several orders in Haryana totaling Rs 43.70 crore

The Director General of the Department of New & Renewable Energy Haryana (HAREDA), Panchkula, has placed significant orders with Alpex Solar Limited, a solar system manufacturer, for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 1434 solar water pumping systems. The announcement was made on Tuesday. According to the statement, the orders were received under the PM-KUSUM Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana).

Under the PM Kusum scheme’s Component-B, the Noida-based business was awarded the first contract for 845 solar water pumps for Rs 26.49 crore. The project involves designing, manufacturing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning Solar Water Pumping Systems (SWPS) at 845 sites across the state of Haryana. The second order is from HAREDA, Panchkula, for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 589 solar water pumping systems, with a total estimated value of Rs 17.21 core.

“The new orders from the Govt of Haryana reinforce our commitment to timely delivery and finest quality service,” said Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director of Alpex Solar Limited. In order to maintain our position as industry leaders and to dominate the solar water pump installation market in all of India, we are giving the solar water pump business top priority. We continue to work to use cutting-edge techniques to increase our presence in the agricultural sector’s use of diverse green energy applications.

The state of Rajasthan has also authorized and endorsed Alpex Solar Ltd to build solar water pumps.

Installing solar pumps provides farmer communities with green energy, which stimulates the rural economy and promotes a sustainable future. More crops and food grains would be produced as a consequence of the solar water pump. Additionally, it would enhance the community of farmers’ general well-being, said Ashwani Sehgal.

The goal of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) is to honor India’s commitment to raising the installed capacity of electric power from non-fossil fuel sources to 40% by 2030 as part of the country’s intended nationally determined contributions (INDCs) and to ensure energy security for farmers in India. In off-grid locations where grid power is unavailable, individual farmers will get assistance under Component-B of the initiative to install standalone solar agricultural pumps with a maximum capacity of 7.5 HP to replace their current diesel irrigation systems and agriculture pumps. More powerful pumps over 7.5 HP may also be added.
